Testimonials from around the country on budget cuts

Garrett felt very disrespected when sharing his story with staff members from Arizona Representative Juan Ciscomani’s office in DC. Garrett depends on Medicaid and Social Security to pay for health care and other expenses needed to get his college degree. He was born with a physical disability.

In the 60’s, Chris remembers when protests helped end the Vietnam War. That is why he is optimistic now. He is a physician who came to stop the cuts to Medicaid while giving tax breaks to billionaires!

Who really listens when we tell our stories and who doesn’t!

Dr Jacobs came from New York to talk about how these cuts are hurting his patients. With out Medicaid, people are just going to get sick. He works with HIV positive patients.

Master Sargant Ritz on the promise of the VA. She and her husband spent the majority of their lives serving our country and now all those benefits are threatened. Benefits she earned and will fight to keep!

Excitedly heading in to Rep Steil’s office to visit with a staffer. Armed with my personal story about cuts to the VA and an understanding of how the Budget Reconciliation process will give billionaires big tax breaks while cutting programs for the poor! Will our visits move the needle on the issues we care about? I don’t think so but it’s a start!
